Roger Hamblok

In 1959 I was born in a little town called Lommel. After visiting an exhibtion in 1995 in a neighbour town, I bought some brushes, some watercolor tubes and started with watercolor. I've been doing this since then.

 

Fortunately I took some classes from Gerda Mentens and from Nuria Trius who both pointed me in the right direction.

 

When I am painting, I think about an advice that Nuria used to give me : painting is like putting spots and stains on a paper. Then try to figure out and define what they are and what you want to leave blanc. Less is more she used to say.

 

My inspiration comes from travelling, nature, industry or just from nice pictures.

 

Until now I have never had an exhibtion and would certainly would love to do so if someone finds my work interesting enough.
